Resume Employment Locations
Rarely does the location of your employer matter more than what
you accomplished while there.
However, in some cases, location does matter. This would generally
apply to someone who has international experience and is continuing
to seek a position internationally.
Rather than hoping a hiring manager notices the location of your
employers, it's best to bring this information out quickly and
effectively.
One way to do that is to mention it in the Qualifications
Summary or Profile section that begins
your resume.
For example, a business developer in retail fashion with international
experience might type an opening Qualifications Summary like
this:
Qualifications Summary
Accomplished, multilingual professional, with the experience
and skill to excel as a CEO in a global organization. International
fashion experience for leading retailers in London, Paris
and Milan. Recent successes include enhancing profits at Tres
Chic by $7-million through effective reorganization
and proactive marketing. Fluent in French, Italian, Spanish
and English. Willing to relocate to Europe, Asia or Australia. |
