State Jobs
Linked below is the official government personnel agency in each
U.S. state, that lists state jobs online or at least provides information
about finding and applying for same.
State jobs as referenced here, are government and civil-service
employment opportunities. They include homeland
security jobs.
Tip: Be wary of paying a
fee to land a state job; it's likely a government job scam,
of which there are several. Official state job agencies never
charge job seekers. |
White-collar state jobs typically require formal education
or training, such as a degree or certification, or at least
equivalent experience. Blue-collar state jobs typically do not
require a college degree, but might require experience, training
or both.
State jobs also include apprenticeships and internships,
which typically do not require much experience, if any. Some of
the government agencies that list state jobs also sponsor local job
fairs for same.
Did you know? If you're
a qualified veteran, then you are entitled to preference in
hiring and retention for state government jobs, if your
work state has such a program. Many do. |
To find, apply for or learn about state jobs, just click on a
state name below to visit the official government job site. Many
also provide online resources for current state employees, such
as those regarding benefits, retirement and employee
rights.
Tip: If you're looking
for the unemployment office (or One-Stop Career Center)
in your state, it's likely a different government organization
from the state job agency linked below. See Unemployment
Office. |
