Below are job banks and other resources that list so-called Katrina jobs. Katrina jobs are to help unemployed victims of Hurricane Katrina find new employment in any state. They are also to assist in the Katrina clean-up, rebuilding and recovery efforts, while temporarily providing employment income to victims. Some of the job banks below also list Hurricane Rita jobs for similar purposes.

Please be aware that some of the Katrina job information below might be obsolete, because much time has passed since Hurricane Katrina struck. The last significant update to this page was on 12/9/06.

Beware of Katrina Job Scams! Most job banks never charge job seekers for job listings. Report suspected scams to the Attorney General's Office in your state.

FEMA Jobs
Jobs currently offered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which is heavily involved with leading Katrina clean-up, rebuilding and recovery efforts. Hosted by USA Jobs, the government's official job bank. Search for Katrina jobs at other government agencies too, as many are working with FEMA in post-Katrina efforts.

CoolWorks
An online Katrina Job Fair of sorts, where employers in various states are offering jobs and housing assistance to workers who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. CoolWorks is a job bank that lists seasonal jobs.

At this writing, CollegeGrad hasn't yet posted a related message or link on its site. But it said in a press release that it will post staff jobs and volunteer opportunities for free, for any nonprofit organization that is helping Katrina victims. Interested nonprofit organizations may contact CollegeGrad. Job seekers and volunteers may search for such opportunities, by starting in the Job Postings section. CollegeGrad is among the top job banks for entry-level jobs.

Careers After Katrina
National Executive Personnel created this special placement program, to help convenience store workers and others displaced by Hurricane Katrina find new employment. National Executive Personnel is an executive search firm specializing in the North American and European convenience store and petroleum industries.

The volunteers at this new site launched by Journalist Danny Glover, are helping hurricane victims write resumes and cover letters. They will also attempt to connect applicants with employers.

A site dedicated to helping Katrina-unemployed victims land jobs. It was launched by Chandler Hill Partners, a Job Search and Career Advancement Firm.

Katrina and Rita Recovery Job Connection
A job bank for unemployed victims of Katrina and Rita to land temporary employment, while helping with the clean-up and recovery effort. It's also for unemployed victims to seek jobs of any type in any state. Employers in any state may post Rita or Katrina jobs or any others to help employ disaster victims, for free. Created by the U.S. Department of Labor in cooperation with America's Job Bank, the central job bank where all state unemployment offices and Career One Stop Centers list jobs of all types. America's Job Bank is also listing Rita and Katrina clean-up and recovery jobs at this writing.
